“They said, RIP Nokia. I say, they couldn’t be more wrong.” -Sebastian Nyström, Head of Products Business at Nokia
A while ago, we were one among the people who were saddened by the demise of the NOKIA brand and we even took great pains to create a tribute video for the company. But a few days earlier, there was a post on the Nokia Facebook page which said, “The Nokia Team is excited in continuing the story with you” and it stirred quite a speculation. However, we decided to wait and watch.

In a surprising event, the Nokia N1 tablet was launched yesterday, symbolizing Nokia’s comeback. The world’s greatest telecom firm is back, and it is back with a bang!Ditching all the dishonours it received from Microsoft and recovering from the damage that it faced due to the arrival of Android and Windows Operating systems, Nokia has finally made a decision, to move to Android.
And this has begun with the Nokia N1, a tablet that runs on the Android 5 Lollipop OS. This is good news for Nokia fans who like Android, because Nokia could release smartphones powered by Android OS.
The Nokia N1 looks absolutely perfect, and shares looks similar to the Apple iPad. However, it is totally different and simple in design, yet practical and functional. The Nokia N1 will support all the apps most Android tablets will and it also features a special ‘Z launcher’, exclusively designed and developed by Nokia. The special feature of this launcher is that you could just scribble a letter and all the applications or contacts beginning with that letter get indexed.
The Nokia N1 features a 7.9 inch (4:3) display with 2048×1536 resolution, Gorilla® Glass 3, IPS panel with LED backlight and a fully laminated zero air-gap display. Powered by a 2.3 GHz Intel® 64-bit Quad Core Atom™ Processor Z3580, the Nokia N1 will handle the most demanding apps with ease. The Nokia N1 also comes with 2GB internal storage and 32 GB expandable.
Audio is always important, and Nokia has always given importance to it. This came to light with the launch of Nokia’s most remembered Xpress Music® Series. The Nokia N1 comes with two 0.5 W stereo speakers which are deemed to produce brilliant sound quality. This tablet is also just 6.9mm thick and with its looks, we are guessing that it must be good to feel and hold.
We never imagined that Nokia would make a comeback with this Tablet and it comes with the precise tagline “Thinking Ahead”. Nokia has definitely had this in mind a little earlier than we thought and it has released this beautiful piece of innovation at the right time. For many Nokia fans, it was more than a launch event; it was indeed an emotional happening. Lots of likes and comments have been coming in for the Nokia N1 tablet and we are tracking Nokia for more information on this. It is expected to retail at 249 Euro and will keep you posted as soon as we get more information about it.
