A hyped up launch event took place in Worli, Mumbai, where Sachin Tendulkar, along with a few other celebrities, launched the stunning car which was featured in Mission Impossible 4. Among the other guests were a few Bollywood actors and Indian automobile experts. The BMW i8 India launch was expected in early 2015, but we did not expect it to come out this early. Priced at INR 2.29 Crore, the BMW i8 comes in line with its other exotic competitors.
The technology incorporated in the BMW i8 is much more than you could imagine, and it is definitely worth spending on. Though it is small, the car’s performance is not below the line. It rockets to 100 kmph in 4.4 seconds, using both electrical and mechanical power. The electric motor produces 131 hp and the 1.5 liter three cylinder petrol engine produces a power of 231 hp.
The battery can be charged in less than 150 minutes and the BMW i8 also has scissor doors. The only drawback of this car in India is that it is a two door car, which can only seat two people comfortably. But that must not be a deal breaker for people who have a lot of money and are die hard BMW fans. Not to mention, die hard Mission Impossible fans as well.
