Last year, LG announced the AKA lineup of smartphones in Korea which was aimed at kids. Now LG has announced that it will be making the AKA line up available in Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan, Turkey and China.
LG had already unveiled the AKA line up in Taiwan last week and it is expected to release the devices to the other listed markets very soon.
The AKA lineup of smartphones has a very peppy paint job its their signature style being the eyes printed on top of the smartphones. LG believes that this will create an emotional connection between the children and the devices, which will reduce the kids from abusing and throwing the device around. There are five different colors available – White, yellow, pink, blue and black with each of them having their own distinct styling for the eyes.
LG states that these eyes are more than just goofy aesthetics. They act as notification lights and even have the ability to change color depending on the type of notification, which does have a nice feel to it.
The phone is equipped with formidable hardware, boasting a 5 inch 720p display that would offer an excellent visual experience; while the entire OS is run by the quad core SoC which clocks in at 1.2 GHz. The LG AKA smartphones also have 1.5 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal memory and a battery that has a healthy capacity of 2610 mAh.
The latest generation of the LG AKA line up is currently priced at around $455 in Korea and we have very little doubt that it would change when the device is retailed globally.
