Earlier today, Flipkart opened up pre orders for Huawei’s next flagship device in India, the Huawei Honor 6 Plus.
Huawei has decided to build on its former flagship’s (Huawei Honor 6) success by launching the 6 Plus in India for a price of INR 26,499. The pricing puts it right in the middle of the expensive flagships such as Samsung S6 and the inexpensive flagships such as the OnePlus One.
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus has a 5.5 inch 1080p TFT display with a pixel density of 401 ppi. While most manufacturers have moved to the Quad HD display, Huawei’s executive Yu ChengDong insists that 2K displays are useless and drain the battery quickly. The Huawei Honor 6 Plus houses Huawei’s latest Kirin 925 processor and is 4G LTE capable as well.
The real star of the show is Huawei’s dual 8 MP shooter at the rear. Huawei has put in a lot of effort into the research and development of this unique piece of technology and no, it’s not intended to be used to capture 3D images. The Dual 8 MP cameras improve the image quality by gathering more light and using effective noise cancellation algorithms. The dual camera set up on the Huawei Honor 6 Plus also provides another major feature which has not been included in 99 percentage of the mobile devices so far, and that is the ability to adjust the aperture.
Huawei Honor 6 Plus’ dual cameras can provide a virtual aperture of around f/0.95 since it has two cameras positioned to mimic the human eye. Huawei has also designed a software that can emulate the depth of field obtained with different apertures. The dual set up also aids in faster focus times, and Huawei claims that the device will can lock focus within 0.1 second if the conditions are favourable.
