The Sony Xperia Z4 retains the characteristic OmniBalance design language seen in the previous Xperia Z iterations. The design is slightly modified and the thickness is now trimmed down to 6.9mm making the Device super thin.
The build quality of the Sony Xperia Z4 is touted to be excellent. It comes with IP68 certification that assures that the dust and water will have no effect on the Xperia Z4. It is also constructed with a two layer coating and the corners are reinforced with resin to ensure protection against falls.
On the front of the Sony Xperia Z4 is a 5.2 inch Full HD IPS display. Sony has jumped on the QHD bandwagon just yet. It is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor which consists of eight cores and an Adreno 430 GPU. It consists of 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of on-board storage. Sony is also generous enough to include a 128 GB Memory Card Slot in the Sony Xperia Z4.
The rear of the Sony Xperia Z4 is Sony’s homebrew 20.7 MP camera which has all the fancy modes its predecessor had along with the boosted ISO of 12,800. Sony seems to be using the same sensor for four generations of flagships now, and maybe it is following the slogan “if it is not broken, don’t fix it”. We would love to see a new sensor from Sony now that every device maker is giving its best to make a great camera centric phone. The 20.7 MP sensor will also record videos with a resolution of 4k (UHD) at 30 FPS.
The secondary camera of the Sony Xperia Z4 is 5 MP with Exmor RS sensor which is again an in house unit. It is calibrated for selfies with feature like shake reduction to eliminate any blurs in images.
The battery on the Sony Xperia Z4 is 2,930 mAh and should hold enough charge to get through a day with ease. The Sony Xperia Z4 will be shipping with Android Lollipop 5.0. However, there has been no information about the pricing, we hope the same will be disclosed in the near future. With that said, the Sony Xperia Z4 makes it to be the Gadget of the Week for now.
