Your wish of owning a cheap Windows smartphone might just be fulfilled. Microsoft is eyeing on the mid and budget segment in India, and it has made its intentions clear by launching the Microsoft Lumia 430 in India. For an asking price of INR 5,299, the Lumia 430 does seem to be a very tempting Windows device.
The Microsoft Lumia 430 will be featuring a 4 inch WVGA (800×480 pixels) display, which is rather uninspiring considering that most of the HD devices like Xiaomi Redmi and Lenovo A6000 are available for around INR 6,000. But since the screen size is a smaller one. Hence the WVGA resolution should be able to hold its own. The processor is a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 clocked at 1.2 GHz coupled with 1 GB of RAM, together this should be enough to power the device through basic tasks and light weight games. It will be featuring 8 GB of internal storage which can be later expanded through the provided MicroSD slot.
The rear camera will be a fixed focus 2 MP and the front camera will be a VGA unit, both of which are nothing to write home about. The Microsoft Lumia 430 will also be Dual SIM capable, which is a huge plus if you are trying to sell your device in the budget category. The battery is rated at 1500 mAh which is comparatively small, but should be enough to gather enough charge to power the device through the day since it has a a modest screen and not-so-power hungry processor.
The Microsoft Lumia 430 seems to be like a step in the right direction, but only time will tell how well it is received.
