Asus has been teasing its new line up of tablets dubbed as the ZenPad series. It had also stated that there will be two models released, debuting at the Computex show in Taiwan by the month of June. Renders of one of the two models have been leaked. The product is expected to be launched soon.
The renders of the Asus Zenpad suggest that it has dual front facing speakers which are expected to be stereo. The screen is fixed at a 4:3 ratio which seems to have been adopted from Apple’s iPad lineup, even though most of the Android tablets, such as the Nexus 9 and the Samsung Galaxy have started using this aspect ratio, it should be noted that they have absolutely no comfort when it comes to single handed use.
The Asus ZenPad is built completely in plastic, the rear uses soft touch plastic to provide traction for holding it and has a faux leather strip at the edge which is home for the Intel and Asus ZenPad logo. The power button rests below the volume rocker keys towards the sides and the 3.5 earphone jack is situated on the top.
This Asus ZenPad is expected to be an 8-inch tablet powered by 64-bit quad core chipset from Intel’s BayTrail line up, the exact model can either be a Z3560 or a Z3530. The screen is also expected to hold a retina grade resolution of 2048 x 1536 which should provide impeccable text sharpness considering the fact that most of us would be holding the tablets a considerable distance from our eyes.
Rumors suggest that it will be available in a number of variants based predominantly on memory capacity ranging from 8 GB to 64 GB. Asus will also be launching a lower end 7-inch device along with this and the 7-inch model will also be powered by an Intel SoC.
