Fujifilm appears to have set out on a mission to revive the days of the Polaroid Instant cameras and boy, is that nostalgic! The inspiration appears to be very clear, the Fujifilm Instax mini 8 and the Instax mini 90 both closely resemble the Polaroid 300 Instant camera (which of course is a good thing!).
Without doubt, both of these instant cameras are amazing, but there will certainly be people who would want something a little larger than the business card size photo prints. After all, this is the generation of large devices with mobiles spanning display sizes of at least 5 inches. The Fujifilm Instax Wide 300 can print photos at 2.4 x 3.9″ which equals to the size of two Instax mini 90 photos stuck side by side.
Specifications wise it might not seem like the Fujifilm Instax Wide 300 offers much. But this is not about specifications, it is about fun and enjoyment. It is also advisable to stick with daylight shots and indoor shots at night (provided the indoors are well lit) since it has an aperture of F/14.
This is beneficial in a way, since the smaller aperture will be able to keep everything in focus, thereby making missed focus shots a rare occurrence. The Instax Wide 300 is also equipped with a tripod socket and has the ability to snap on adapter lenses for macro or close up shots.
At an asking price of approximately INR 9,000 the FujiFilm Instax Wide 300 does appear to make fun affordable! Watch the video below for a more detailed walk-through about the FujiFilm Instax Wide 300, covered at the International Camera Fair held at the Chennai Trade Center in June 2015.
