A smartphone labeled HTC D828w is the hottest leak from TENAA at the moment. TENAA is the notorious Chinese telecom certification agency known for its numerous lakes of smartphones before their actual launch. In fact, we would even go as far to say that TENAA is probably the biggest leakster in the mobile technology market.
Today, we got to have a look at another phone before its launch, the HTC D828w. Judging from the naming convention, it appears that this device will make it to the market in the name of HTC Desire 828w.
From the specifications standpoint, the HTC D828w appears to be a premium mid-range handset. TENAA’s list specifies that the device will feature a 5.5-inch 1080p display, which will be powered by a 1.5 GHz octa core CPU, although there is nothing mentioned about its make. With the current CPU market flooded with chips, it is getting harder to make a speculation. There is a high chance that this chipset could either be a Snapdragon 615 or a Mediatek SoC.
The HTC D828w will be equipped with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of inbuilt memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB. The rear camera will be 13 MP while the front facing camera will be HTC’s home brewed 4 MP UltraPixel camera. The handset will also be equipped with all the connectivity options including LTE.
Out of the box, the HTC D828w will be equipped with HTC Sense on top of Android 5.1 Lollipop. The device is expected to be announced very soon in multiple color variants including white, gold, black, blue, red, orange and gray. It is highly likely that the smartphone will be first announced in China.
