The all new Mahindra TUV300 is by far, the toughest looking SUV made in India. It does lend its design aspects from a battle tanker. After all, both are designed to survive difficult terrains. Mahindra TUV300 is designed to look strong, and to give commanding visibility when it is seen around.
The Mahindra TUV300 is a sub-4 metre compact SUV with a 7-seater capacity. The Quanto was built on similar lines and this too will have space for 5 passenger seats as usual, and 2 side facing jump seats at the rear. This car will come with clear lens headlamps, a toothed front grille and a glossy black D-pillar.
The D-pillar of the Mahindra TUV300 does resemble the Quanto, but Mahindra has managed to change the tail-lamps to give it a big SUV appeal. The car will be powered by an engine based on the mHawk architecture. The TUV300 encases a mHawk80 engine that has been designed with the company’s patented technologies in its mega factory.
The Mahindra TUV300 will feature a 1.5-litre oil burner to make the most out of the excise duty benefits. Mahindra says that it is a true blue SUV but won’t come with 4WD. A good ground clearance, massive bonnet, slab-like horizontal roof line and the exposed spare wheel at the rear end gives it the most amazing and daring look.
The Mahindra TUV300 will be released to conquer and lead the streets on 10th September, 2015. This is an all-new product built on an advanced platform. Mahindra had asked the Italian design firm Pininfarina for their inputs on designing the car.
The TUV300 will be a global product and Mahindra will soon start to look at countries where the car will be exported. In India, this car will be manufactured at the company’s Chakan facility in Pune.
But will the TUV fare well against its competitors? We will have to wait and watch!
