The new Need For Speed version is on its way, and this product could make it better. If you love racing games and if you are one of those gamers who have always dreamed of having a racing simulator at home, RacingCUBE could make your dream come true.
Fasetech, the company behind the RacingCUBE has launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the project, but as of now, it only has 21 backers. The project needs kr675,000, but there are only kr115,095 pledged at the moment.
The RacingCUBE is not a complete simulator. Fasetech has done a clever job by just making the frame of the simulator. You can attach your own steering wheel, pedals and seats as you wish. Most gamers who wish to own a simulator will already have a steering wheel and a pedal. Hence, RacingCUBE is even better because you do not have to purchase a new steering or pedals if you already have them.
It has an extremely high performance/price ratio, compact size, more than 360 degree of rotation, adjustable center of rotation, and optional sway and surge function.
You can feel everything with the RacingCUBE simulator, and it would be much better with an Oculus Rift-powered VR Gear. All these settings can also be customized according to your wish. The fast servo actuators deliver the simulation quickly, and the lag is almost completely invisible.
According to Fastech, you can even feel the texture of the road and also the lightest bumps. But as the makers say, they can only make it cheap if they manufacture it on a large scale. Though the product is good, it does not have many takers, probably because of the fact that most gamers still do not have an idea about it.
If you think that the RacingCUBE is a good idea, share it among your gamer friends. Making an affordable racing simulator is not an easy job, and Fasetech could use some help!
