Android 6.0 Marshmallow Update in India Starts Rolling Out

As promised, Google had released the Android 5.0 Lollipop earlier this year for its slew of Android One phones and now it has also started rolling out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India for the Spice Dream Uno.

It comes as a pleasant surprise to us that the Spice Dream Uno has received the Android Update even ahead of some Nexus devices. The update is a 337.9 MB package and it falls as a convenient over the air update (OTA). To be honest, we did not expect the Android One devices to start receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update in India until at least December of 2015.

Android One handsets are are a bunch of Android-based devices manufactured with similar specifications by device makers like Micromax, Spice, Karbonn, Lava and a few others. The hansers basically feature a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels and are powered by a quad core 1.3 GHz Mediatek processor built on Cortex-A7 cores.

We are installing the update as we speak and we will be writing our insights about the update and what real world performance and features the Android 6.0 Marshmallow brings to the Android One devices.
