Samsung has always been fascinated with flip phones and just when we had almost forgotten everything about them, the Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 got leaked. The new model from Samsung was spotted in the GFX database sporting the model number SM-W2016. Although we cannot be completely certain that the SM-W2016 is a Galaxy Golden, there are a few key hints that assure us that it might be one.
The first Samsung Galaxy Golden sported the model number SM-W2014, while the second leaked Galaxy Golden model was codenamed SM-W2015 (although it never saw the daylight) and now we have the SM-W2016. The nomenclature Samsung follows for its Galaxy Golden line up appears to be pretty obvious.
The GFX database points out that the Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 (yes, that’s what we are going to call it) is not just another niché device from Samsung, but it is a force to be reckoned with. It is powered by an octa-core Exynos 7 processor coupled to an octa-core Mali-T760MP8 GPU.
The Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 is also stated to possess 3GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory which puts the device level pegging with Samsung’s own Galaxy S6. The GFX also states that it has a 4.6 inch HD display, but we are going to ignore that since the GFX does not get the screen set up right in some occasions.
The rear camera is also a flagship grade 16 MP unit with a 16:9 aspect ratio for wide angle images, the front camera is 5 MP and should be enough to satisfy selfie users and business professional who use their mobiles for video conferencing on the go.
The Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 was also spotted on Zauba listings where it was priced INR 26,725 which is approximately €420 or $360. But the very fact that Samsung is importing the SM-W2016 for testing purposes affirms that it will not be a Korea-only variant.
We expect the Samsung Galaxy Golden 3 to be fitted with Super AMOLED displays on the front and rear for a truly flagship grade user experience. As with every leak, the details about the Galaxy Golden 3 will be slowly revealed. Follow us for more.
