ZUK has just launched the Sandalwood variant of its Z1 handset, it seems like ZUK has decided to level up their game. Although the ZUK Z1 Oak version has been out for some time now, users who want their phones to unique from the crowd will appreciate the touch ZUK has given to it Sandalwood variant.
The ZUK Z1 Sandalwood version is priced at RMB 1,599 in China, which roughly translates to $250 in the US currency. For those of you unaware of ZUK, it is a Lenovo based company operating chiefly in China. So, it’s not one of the many Chinese start-ups and has some really souind backing.
When it comes to specifications, this ZUK Z1 is no different from the standard variant (which is already a very capable performer). It features a large 5.5 inch 1080p display which has around 403 pixels per inch. The phone is powered by the trusty old Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 SoC which is a quad core CPU based on custom Krait cores clocked at 2.5 GHz. The Z1 also features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory. It’s unknown why a 32-bit CPU is paired with 4GB of RAM.
The rear camera is a conventional 13MP while the front camera is 8MP, suitable for selfies. The ZUK Z1 an enormous 4,100 mAh battery which should be enough to power the handset for more than a day’s usage.
Out of the box, the ZUK Z1 will be running ZUI 1.6 on top of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It can be ordered from ZUK’S online store as well as their flagship stores. First 50 buyers will be getting free Skull Candy earphones while the second 50 buyers will be receiving an authentic leather case free of cost.
