The sequels turns out to be Prey 2, Wolfenstein 2 and Evil Within 2. Prey 2 is a cancelled video game and rumors speculate that Arkhane Studios have taken up the project and have been working with the game since 2014. Bethesda will announce Prey 2 and a remaster project during its E3 2016 briefing this coming Sunday. This is according to industry insider Shinobi602, who appeared on the MrMattyPlays podcast recently to make the claim. The first game was a big success and then Bethesda got the rights shortly after the release.
The Evil Within 2 is just an assumption and we haven’t heard anything notable about it, although a sequel is generally expected – the first game being one that went down well.
Recent entries in the Wolfenstein series have been a huge hit. It will be highly likely that Bethesda will reveal Wolfenstein 2. We had already heard tell of a new Wolfenstein from a voice actress in 2015 – considering she was saying it would take “two more years” back then, that lines up nicely with a plausible 2017 release.
Bethesda Softworks will also announce a remastered version of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim during their E3 2016 press conference on June 12, according to the latest internet rumors. The rumors come from industry insider Shinobi602 and NeoGAF user Enter the Dragon Punch. Dragon Punch went on to add that the Skyrim remaster will contain “mods, all DLCs and improved visuals”. Mod support is the key inclusion there – it being the thing that makes Skyrim so endearingly popular on PC. Remember, console mod support is something Bethesda now has up and running in Fallout 4 on Xbox One, and will bring to PS4 later this month.
It won’t be long until we find out just how much of this turns out to be true – Bethesda’s press conference will take place this Sunday, June 12.
