Wow, it almost seems like it was just yesterday that I plugged my NES Classic into my CRT TV and fired up Super Mario for countless hours of non-stop entertainment. Times have changed and even mobile phones these days can play games with much higher graphical fidelity. But as a wise man once said:
“There’s more to a game than just graphics.”
The nostalgia an NES Classic brings to the 90s kid is just beyond words to explain. While it may seem like Nintendo is cruelly capitalizing on people’s emotions, if it can make people happy, we don’t see any problem with it.
The Nintendo mini NES Classic is stated to go on sale tonight at 2pm at selected retail stores. The mini console will be carrying a price tag of USD 60 and will come preloaded with 30 games that include amazing titles like Super Mario Brothers, The Legend of Zelta and Donkey Kong.
The packaging of the mini NES Classic will feature an additional controller, an HDMI cable and an AC adapter.
We hope to see Nintendo get some of its traction back with this new approach.
